Get to know American Tool

American Tool of Cedar Rapids was established as a sole proprietorship in 1978 by Victor Feller. It was established as, and continues to be, a cutting tool specialty operation  that is able to serve you in four ways: (1.) Regrinding of your dull cutting tools for specific needs. (2.) Modification of standard tooling to meet specialized requirements. (3.) Designing and manufacturing of non-standard cutting tools or manufacturing per your drawings. (4.) As a distributor of quality standard cutting tools. By maintaining our focus on cutting tools alone, our commitment to service and expertise will not be compromised.

From the time AMERICAN TOOL began operation, Linda Feller has been Marketing Director and is our current President. She has been largely responsible for increasing our customer base to well over 270 active customers. We believe this has been possible because of our dedication to quality and service. Our customers consist mainly of machine shops, tool and die operations and manufacturing operations that range from one-man shops, to several hundred employee facilities.

In 1982, AMERICAN TOOL designed and contracted for the construction of its recent facility, located at 5431 Center Point Road NE, Cedar Rapids Iowa. In 1994 an addition to the facility allows it to continue to serve our needs.

In 2001, Victor Feller passed away. Linda Feller continues to serve as the company president but has since retired from the day to day operations. Their son, Troy Feller, is the current vice president. Troy handles sales and the operations of American Tool.

AMERICAN TOOL employs six full time and 1 part time employees. The size of our operation allows us to be responsive to your emergency needs, yet flexible enough to handle your general needs. Our size also helps all of our employees develop a dedication to a high quality product, making the relationship between satisfied customers and our continuing success easily identifiable.

AMERICAN TOOL is a stocking distributer of Nachi cutting tools, Harvey tools, and also handles Garr Tool's solid carbide tools. Our association with Garr Tool over the last 30 years has been an equally satisfying one because they continue to have a strong commitment to service, quality and price.

One last thing we would like you to know about AMERICAN TOOL is our dedication to service and quality. We at AMERICAN TOOL know and understand that our customers do not have an unlimited supply of special cutting tools. We are willing to do whatever it takes to help meet your schedules within the limitations of our capabilities.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to get to know AMERICAN TOOL. If you have any further questions, or would like to visit our facility, please contact one of the following: Troy Feller or Sharon Ransford at 319-393-1860.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.
